The answer

is paid to the eight categories, one of whom is the poor. If an employee is poor and cannot afford to marry, and his salary is insufficient, and his maintenance is obligatory upon his wealthy father, then if the father is unable to provide the maintenance or refuses to help him marry, it is permissible to give him zakat. Ibn Uthaymeen stated the permissibility of disbursing zakat to those in need of marriage, provided that the marriage is real and actual.
