Is it permissible for me to install a doorbell with the sound of birds?

There is no objection to installing a doorbell with the sound mentioned. In fact, some scholars have issued fatwas permitting the use of a normal doorbell sound, stating that it does not fall under the prohibition of hanging bells. Sheikh Ibn 'Uthaymeen said: "Some doors have a bell for seeking permission; this, too, is permissible and does not fall under the prohibition, because it is not hung on an animal or similar, nor does it produce the musical sound that was forbidden by the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
