Does divorce occur if the husband says to his wife over the phone, "If you leave on such and such a day, you are divorced," and the wife leaves on that day?

If the husband says to his wife: "If you go out on such and such a day, you will be divorced," and she goes out on that day as the husband intended, then divorce occurs, even if the statement was made over the phone. This is the view of the majority of scholars and the preponderant opinion. However, Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds that in this case, an expiation for a broken oath (kaffarat yamin) is required if the husband did not intend divorce but rather intended to prevent his wife from going out.
