What is the true story of the Prophet Elijah?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Oct 24, 2026
The Prophet of God, Elijah, mentioned by the People of the Book, is Elias (peace be upon him) mentioned in the Quran. He was sent to the Children of Israel when they worshipped the idol "Ba'l." He forbade them from polytheism, but they disbelieved him. The details of his story are not mentioned in revelation, and what is narrated as details is what has been heard from the People of the Book. There is no definitive religious text that asserts the truth of the matter, and there is no religious or worldly benefit in knowing these details.
