The criterion for overwhelming doubt is clarified in No. 122730. There is no disagreement among scholars that a person afflicted by obsessive whispers () should disregard them and pay them no attention. If a person afflicted by waswas does this, then they have done what Allah has legislated for them, and their worship is sound and accepted. They should not pay attention to what Satan casts into their heart, and they should recall Allah's mercy upon His servants, and that Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.
