What is the ruling on the disobedience of a father who dislikes his married daughters visiting his home and expels them from it?

Firstly: Allah's commandment to treat parents kindly is comprehensive, even if they strive to make their children commit shirk (polytheism). However, it is not permissible to obey them in sin, but it is obligatory to associate with them with kindness. Dutifulness to Muslim parents is obligatory, even if their character is bad.

Secondly: Stinginess is a blameworthy trait. Allah has threatened the stingy with a humiliating torment, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed for recompense for the giver and ruin for the withhold-er. Your father's stinginess towards him is forbidden. It is permissible for your mother to take from his money without his knowledge for reasonable expenses. You both should consider his stinginess by not burdening him with hospitality expenses and by bringing gifts to facilitate your visit and to address his stinginess kindly.
