Do a couple who divorced and are considering getting back together need their parents' blessing again?

If a man divorces his wife with the first or second pronouncement, he may take her back verbally or by action as long as she is within her waiting period ('iddah). It is recommended to have witnesses for the reconciliation, based on the Almighty's saying: "Then when they have reached their appointed term, either retain them in a seemly manner or part from them in a seemly manner, and take as witness two just persons from among you." However, after the waiting period ('iddah) has expired, she is not lawful for him except with a new contract and a new dowry. If it is the third pronouncement, she is not lawful for him until she marries another husband and he consummates the marriage with her, and then he separates from her either by divorce or death, based on the Almighty's saying: "And if he has divorced her [for the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until she marries another husband." It is not permissible to agree on making her lawful (tahlil) for him, as this is cursed in Islamic law.
