The methodology of the Righteous Predecessors (Salaf Saleh) in al-Jarh wa al-Ta'deel (discrediting and attesting to the reliability of narrators) is built upon justice, fairness, and careful investigation. They are free from deviation in their criticism due to their abundant piety. Later scholars accepted their criticism without needing to examine the reasons. As for the correct stance regarding the disagreement of preachers with scholars, it is not to rush into deeming them wrong or innovators. Instead, one should find excuses for them and offer advice and guidance to the best of one's ability, while preserving their status and standing in the hearts of Muslims.
