Prayer is not invalidated simply by men and women praying in front of them as obstructions, nor is it invalidated by their passing. However, it is preferable to move to another place if there is fear of temptation. Women do not incur sin if they are veiled, although it is better for them to be veiled even in their sleep from the sight of passersby. It is not permissible for a woman to pray the obligatory prayer sitting as long as she is able to stand. The sight of men is not an excuse for abandoning standing. According to the majority of scholars, she must make up the prayer if she did that out of ignorance. It is better for a woman to pray in a place concealed from the sight of men.
