Are there angels in Islam called "Cherubim"?

Belief in angels is one of the pillars of faith. What are referred to as "Cherubim angels" have no basis in authentic prophetic hadiths. Rather, their mention appears in very weak and fabricated hadiths, as well as in narrations from the Salaf and sayings of some exegetes. It has been said that they are the angels around the Throne or the bearers of the Throne, or the masters and greatest of angels, or angels of punishment. This falls under the unseen, which can only be established by authentic revelation, and nothing has been reported concerning it. Sheikh Al-Albani ruled the hadiths mentioning them to be weak.
