Who said the verse, "And when Death sinks its talons in… you will find every amulet to be of no avail," and does he mean the amulet forbidden by Sharia?

A tamimah (amulet) is anything hung up to ward off an expected evil or to remove one that has occurred. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it, saying: "Indeed, ruqyah (definition) (incantations), tama'im (amulets), and tiwalah (charms) are shirk (definition) (polytheism)." The ruqyah referred to in this hadith (definition) is that which involves shirk. The aforementioned verse belongs to Abu Dhu'ayb al-Hudhali from his elegy mourning his sons, and he likely recited it before embracing Islam.
