Is the marriage contract (tying the knot) the solution to avoid falling into forbidden acts with a fiancé who is not financially capable of marriage at present?

The first is to initiate marriage, for it is more lowering to the gaze and more حصانة (chastity) for the private parts. Studies are not an impediment; rather, prioritizing marriage over completing studies is affirmed in times of tribulation. If the husband is capable of marriage, even with the lowest costs, then it is obligatory for him to initiate it as long as his need for it has become apparent. If he is not capable, then he must fast, which severs desire. Both parties must fear Allah and cut off the forbidden relationship, for the fiancée is a stranger to her suitor until the contract is concluded. If fornication has occurred, then the contract may not be concluded until after complete repentance from both parties and استبراء (waiting for a menstrual period) by one menstruation.
