Marital life can only thrive with understanding, good character, and overlooking minor faults. The wife must obey her husband in what is permissible and avoid involving family members in marital problems, as this only exacerbates them. A wife leaving her home without a valid reason constitutes nushuz (disobedience). A mother who incites her daughter to nushuz shares in the sin. One should deal with wisdom and try to appease the wife and her mother, but if that does not work, the matter should be referred to the courts.
