Does supplicating with the Beautiful Names of Allah differ from supplicating without them, and does supplicating with the Beautiful Names of Allah bring about things that would not be answered without them? And is "the Ancient" one of the Beautiful Names of Allah, and what is its meaning? And what is the meaning of majesty in Allah's Name "the Majestic"?

Supplicating to Allah using His Beautiful Names and Exalted Attributes is better and closer to receiving a response than a mere supplication, as Allah states: "And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them." The name "Al-Qadeem" (The Ancient/Pre-existent) is not among the Beautiful Names of Allah that are explicitly enumerated (tawqifiyyah); rather, the name "Al-Awwal" (The First) appears in its place. Nevertheless, it is permissible to refer to Allah as "Al-Qadeem" by way of conveying information, such as in "Daleel Al-Hayara" (Guide for the Perplexed). The meaning of "Al-Qadeem" is the Ever-Existent, who is not preceded by non-existence. As for Allah's Name "Al-Adheem" (The Most Great), it means the One of Grandeur and Majesty, whom nothing can incapacitate and from whom nothing is withheld, and He is of immense standing and glorious esteem.
