How can one reconcile the Quran being the uncreated Word of God with the fact that Ayat al-Kursi possesses a tongue and two lips with which it sanctifies the King at the leg of the Throne, and does that mean that God sanctifies Himself?

This Hadith, narrated by Ahmad and others, does not contradict the belief of Ahl al-Sunnah that the Qur’an is uncreated. Its interpretation is that Allah creates a creature that embodies itself in the form of Ayat al-Kursī, having a tongue and two lips with which it glorifies Allah. A similar concept has been mentioned in other texts, such as the glorification (tasbih) that resonates around the Throne, by which trees are planted in Paradise. Imam Ahmad debated the Jahmiyyah regarding this Hadith, explaining to them that it is a similitude. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah also discussed this Hadith, clarifying that its meaning is that Allah creates righteous deeds from these words, which then embody themselves. The intention is that Allah depicts that deed as a planting in Paradise, or creates trees thereby.
