Is there a similarity between Manichaeism and Islam, and did Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) take from them?

The claim that Manichaeism is a monotheistic religion is false. Manichaeism is a dualistic religion that believes the world is composed of two ancient principles: light and darkness. Islamic scholars rejected them and labeled them as heretics (Zanādiqa), for they believed in two creators: one for good and light, and another for evil and darkness. This contradicts the essence of monotheism in Islam. Therefore, the difference between them is like the difference between faith and disbelief.
