Is expiation required for one who shaves his hair forgetfully after intending to offer a sacrifice (udhiyah) and after Dhu al-Hijjah has begun?
Source: FtawySummarized from the full answer at Ftawy · imported Sep 2, 2026
Whoever intends to offer a sacrifice must not remove any hair, nails, or skin from their body once Dhu al-Hijjah begins, until they have offered the sacrifice. This is due to the prohibition of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding that. If someone takes anything forgetfully or out of ignorance, there is no sin upon them. However, if someone does so intentionally, they must repent to Allah Almighty, and there is no expiation required of them.
