Everything that happens in the universe is by the decree and preordainment of Allah. Believing in this calms the heart and brings tranquility. Whoever is afflicted by a calamity and endures it with patience, seeking reward from Allah, Allah guides their heart and compensates them with something better. Caution and vigilance do not avert divine decree, nor do they repel preordainment. Supplication benefits both what has descended and what has not descended, and nothing repels divine decree except supplication. One can supplicate with whatever good words are easy for them, and the best of these are the prophetic supplications.
