Is it permissible for parents to compel their daughter to serve her male sibling, and prevent her from developing herself, under the pretext that serving the male is more worthy of her effort and time, while exempting the male from serving himself?
You are advised to be patient and seek reward from Allah the Almighty, for whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect. Obedience to parents and serving siblings are obligatory unless there is extreme hardship or significant harm, and this should be done gently, avoiding arguing with them or raising one's voice at them, because that is a forbidden act of disobedience and one of the greatest sins. Obedience to parents is obligatory in all matters that do not involve sin. Also, one must not succumb to the whispers of Satan in accusing parents of favoritism or envying siblings.
