If an intravenous dye is given with a medicinal needle into the vein and is not nutritive, it does not invalidate the patient's fast; because it is neither food nor drink, nor analogous to them. Medicinal injections given intravenously do not break the fast, as ruled by the Islamic Fiqh Academy.
