What is the ruling on your altering your statements in a shooting incident you were involved in? Is the distress and turmoil you feel in your life, your failure to pray, and your inability to abstain from drugs due to your mother's displeasure and her prayers against you? What is the solution to escape this situation?

It is not permissible to alter statements before a judge in a way that contradicts reality, because that is a lie. Whoever desires forgiveness should waive their right before the court. As for the distress and failure the questioner feels, it is mostly a result of straying from Allah's path and committing disobedience. For obedience to Allah brings happiness, while disobedience brings worry and distress. Therefore, the questioner must hasten to sincere repentance, especially from negligence in prayer and abandoning it due to conflict with his mother, and desist from taking forbidden drugs, and be dutiful to his mother; for her right is immense, and disobedience to her removes the blessing from deeds. If he turns to Allah with sincere repentance and rectifies his relationship with his mother, then let him be gladdened by Allah's grace and mercy.
