Forgiveness is closer to piety, and its merit is immense in the texts of Sharia. Therefore, you should bear this meaning in mind and the beneficence it entails towards parents. You have already forgiven and pardoned, so it is not permissible to retract for the sake of triumph. If triumph is to be sought from the oppressor, it should be proportionate to the oppression. It is not permissible to point a weapon at a Muslim. You must adhere to the regulations of the Sharia, for in submitting to it there is comfort for the chest, tranquility for the heart, and removal of depression.
