How many movements of the madd (vowel lengthening) are there when it occurs in the middle of a word, both when stopping and continuing recitation?

When a Madd (elongation) occurs in the middle of a word, it is called Madd Muttasil. If it precedes a Sukun (a diacritical mark indicating the absence of a vowel), it is called Madd Lazim (and is elongated for six counts). If it precedes a Hamza (a glottal stop), it is called Madd Wajib (and is elongated for four, five, or six counts). As for the Madd that occurs when stopping (at the end of a word), it is called Madd Arid Lil-Sukoon, and in it, shortening (two counts), medium lengthening (four counts), and full lengthening (six counts) are all permissible.
