What is the length of the connected prolonged madd (madd muttasil) that is at the end of a word (mutatarif) when stopping on it, according to the recitation of Hafs from Asim, and is it permissible to extend it for four or five counts (harakat) as in continuous recitation?

In the case of al-madd al-mutassil (connected prolongation), when stopping, it is permissible to prolong it by four, five, or six counts. This last option (six counts) is permissible considering the stop (waqf) and also considering the aspect of prolonging it by six counts when continuing (wasl), which is taken from a path other than that of Al-Shatibi. As for the madd al-mutassil al-ʿāriḍ li-l-sukūn (connected prolongation with a temporary sukūn) and al-munfarid (isolated), if its end is in the mansūb (accusative) or maftūḥ (fathah) state, there are three permissible recitations for Hafs from Al-Shatibiyyah: stopping with four, five, or six counts with a pure sukūn.
