The husband is not obligated to pay his wife's debt, unless he voluntarily does so as a kindness to her, especially if her debt is personal and not due to his negligence in providing the obligatory maintenance. University tuition fees are not included in the obligatory maintenance. Furthermore, the wife is not even required to pay the debt if the state does not demand it from her in the event of her inability to pay.
