What is the ruling on postponing childbearing for ten or fifteen years with the aim of accumulating wealth and purchasing a house, due to the husband's advanced age and the possibility of his death, and the insufficiency of the inheritance or dowry to secure housing after his death?

Lifespans are predetermined and provisions are decreed; no one will die before completing their lifespan and receiving their full provision. A person's provision is solely from Allah, not from the husband, as Allah Almighty said: (And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision) and (And in the heaven is your provision). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us that every person's provision and lifespan are written while they are in their mother's womb. What is required is to have a good opinion of Allah and to rely upon Him, for whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect. As for the wife's share of the inheritance, it is one-eighth if there is a child, or one-fourth if there is no child.
