Is it permissible to accept financial compensation of 50,0 Syrian Pounds from social insurance for an occupational illness (foot pain) resulting from work, and is this money considered permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram)?

Insurance has two forms:

- Islamic: It is permissible to participate in and benefit from it.

- Commercial:

- Private companies: It is not permissible to participate in them. The participant is only allowed to take back the amount they paid from its compensations.

- The State: It is permissible to participate in it, provided that the State does not invest the insurance funds in usury. If it is compulsory, then it is permissible to receive compensations even if they exceed the amount the person paid.
