Is a daughter's failure to help her mother with housework, when the mother is sick or menstruating and in pain, considered disobedience to parents?

If you are harmed by helping your mother with household chores at certain times, then there is no sin upon you in ceasing to help her at that time, and you will not be considered disobedient. Nevertheless, you must treat your mother kindly and apologize to her with gentleness and politeness, for the mother's right is great, and honoring her is among the greatest acts of nearness to Allah.
