What is the ruling on using cosmetics for sun protection on the face, and is this permissible at work?

What we advise the esteemed questioner is to avoid applying cosmetics when she goes out, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "And they should go out without perfume." If a woman going out to the House of Allah (the Kaaba) is forbidden from adornment and applying perfume so as not to attract attention, then it is even more fitting that the prohibition of applying cosmetics be directed to one who goes out elsewhere.
