How can a suitor, doctor, or judge control desire when looking at an espoused woman, a female patient, or a female defendant? And is the intended desire sexual desire, or merely emotional attachment?

Differentiating between looking with lust and without it is possible and realistic. Lust means finding pleasure in looking. Whoever experiences that, even if their gaze began without lust, must avert their gaze, as Allah Almighty says: {He knows the treachery of the eyes and what the chests conceal} and {And know that Allah knows what is in your souls, so beware of Him}. Emotional attachment is a lust that leads to what follows. The Prophet (peace be upon him) clarified that the eyes, ears, tongue, hand, and foot all have their own zina (illicit acts), and that the heart desires and wishes, and the private parts either confirm or deny that.
