Is it permissible for the family of the deceased to host their relatives who have come from distant places to stay with them for a day or two after the burial, despite his saying (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "There is no sitting for condolences"?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on sitting for condolences. Some have deemed it reprehensible, while others have permitted it. Those who permitted sitting for condolences cited the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) as evidence. However, scholars have unanimously agreed that offering condolences to a Muslim in their affliction is a Sunnah, and there are hadiths that speak of its virtue. As for the hadith, "There is no sitting for condolences," it has not been found. Regarding relatives coming from afar sitting, there is no harm in it due to necessity and to alleviate hardship, and it is not solely for the purpose of offering condolences.
