The answer

Scholars have differed on the permissibility of a guardian selling to himself what he is entrusted to sell. Imam Malik permitted it if the guardian did not favor himself. Imam Ahmad, in one of the two narrations, permitted it on condition of an increase over the price and that someone else handles the bidding. Accordingly, the sister's purchase of the gold, which was entrusted to be sold, for more than its market price is valid and there is no harm in it.
