Is there in the manner in which Tarawih prayer is performed in your village – ten rak’ahs of Tarawih, then Witr, then another ten rak’ahs of Tarawih – a violation of the Sunnah? And is there anything in its deviation from the common practice of most mosques in the Islamic world, which is praying twenty consecutive rak’ahs, knowing that this is based on the desire of some worshippers?

Continuing the Tarawih prayer in this manner contradicts the command and practice of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet commanded that the last prayer of the night be Witr, and he never exceeded eleven rak'ahs in his night prayers, whether in Ramadan or otherwise. Therefore, the Imam should make Witr the last of his prayers and not cater to the desire of those who do not wish to delay Witr.
