What is the meaning of the word "Da'amees al-Jannah"?

The meaning of "da'amees al-Jannah" (دعاميص الجنة) refers to the young children of its inhabitants. The origin of "da'moos" (دعموص) is a small creature that lives in water and never leaves it. This implies that a young child in Paradise will never leave it. This term was mentioned in a hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Their young ones are the da'amees of Paradise," and it also appeared in the Arabic language.
