What is meant by the phrase "Tahsil al-Madhab" (achieving the Madhab), which is common in Maliki Fiqh books?

The Maliki school frequently uses the term "tahseel al-madhhab," by which they mean to master the madhhab and clarify the essence and the authoritative opinion (qawl muharrar) regarding a difference of opinion. This applies whether the difference is in a matter with a single aspect, or multiple aspects and scenarios, or if there are two recognized opinions. It is, therefore, the authoritative summary of the relied-upon opinion, or the two opinions, or the relied-upon detailed explanation.
