Is it permissible for a sick pilgrim (mu'tamirah) who wears the niqab and is burdened by wearing the isdal to remain in the niqab and offer fidyah (expiatory payment)? What is the method for offering fidyah, and is it permissible for her to give the fidyah to her daughter who resides in Makkah?

The niqab is among the prohibitions of ihram. It is permissible for a woman to cover her face by lowering a piece of cloth from above her head. If lowering the cloth causes her an unusual hardship, she may wear the niqab, and she must offer a fidyah (expiatory sacrifice), which is sacrificing a sheep, or feeding six needy persons (half a saa' for each needy person), or fasting three days. The fidyah is given to the poor and needy of the Haram, or to the place where the prohibited act occurred. If the daughter is poor and independent, the mother may give her from the fidyah for the harm.
