What is the ruling on someone who performed ghusl and prayed, and then two days later found two pieces of glue, each 0.5 cm long, knowing for certain that they were present before ghusl, but he forgot to remove them?

If the layer of glue is thin and does not prevent water from reaching the body, then there is no harm in its remaining after performing ghusl (definition) (ritual bath). However, if it is thick and prevents water from reaching the body, it must be removed, and the area beneath it must be washed, and the prayers that were performed must be repeated. Forgetfulness only removes sin but does not negate the obligation to complete purification. There is no need to repeat the entire ghusl because most scholars do not consider continuity (muraalāt) obligatory in ghusl. However, Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah considers a slight impediment to be excusable, but what was mentioned first is more cautious.
