Is the approval of a son's engagement to a girl who does not adhere to the legal hijab, listens to music, and wears tight clothing, along with frequent phone communication and visits before marriage, considered a sin despite the mother's attempts to rectify the situation and the lack of responsiveness from the girl's family?

The legal hijab is obligatory for a Muslim woman and has conditions, among them: that it covers the entire body, including the face and hands; that it is not an adornment in itself, nor transparent, nor tight; that it is not perfumed or scented; that it does not resemble the clothing of men or disbelievers; and that it is not a garment of fame.

Regarding the relationship between the suitor and the betrothed, it is necessary to adhere to Islamic regulations, as she is still a non-mahram to him. Therefore, he is not permitted to be alone with her or to touch her, and their conversation should be limited to what is necessary.

As for the case of the aforementioned girl, she must strive to adhere to the legal hijab and all other religious commands during the engagement period. If she complies, then that is good and blessed. If she procrastinates or refuses, it is better to seek another girl of religious commitment, in obedience to the words of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Then win the one with religion, and you will prosper." And the commands of Allah must not be delayed or made contingent upon marriage or anything else.
