However, if his intention is to refute those who claim its distortion, then his statement is true and an obligation upon every Muslim. Nevertheless, the phrase "What did you do when you learned that the Qur'an has been distorted?" is incorrect because the Qur'an has not been distorted; rather, some heretics have claimed that it has. Therefore, the phrase must be amended to conform to the correct belief. It is preferable to consult scholars and students of knowledge to formulate a message that correctly conveys the meaning for enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong.
