Are the hadiths narrated in the story of the slander against Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) authentic?

The story of Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah being accused of adultery was narrated with authentic chains of transmission, but there is no disparagement of him in it due to the lack of proof of the immoral act. Al-Bukhari narrated this story with certainty, stating that Umar ibn Al-Khattab flogged Abu Bakrah, Nafi', and Shibl ibn Ma'bad with the Hadd punishment for slander, because their testimony of adultery against Al-Mughirah was incomplete, as Ziyad hesitated in his testimony. This indicates Al-Mughirah's innocence. Some scholars mentioned that the story might contain a degree of ambiguity, as the woman was mistaken by them. If any matter were proven against a Companion, then he is a human being, not infallible; he may err and repent, and his repentance erases his sin, and his state after repentance may be better than before it.
