What is the type of reprehensibility (karahah) associated with going to the mosque after eating onions or garlic?

The Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, forbade those who ate garlic and similar plants from approaching the mosque, and this is the view of all scholars. This prohibition is understood as a complete ban (tahreem) because the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, commanded that anyone from whom the smell of garlic, onions, or similar plants was detected should be expelled from the mosque.
