What is the ruling on photographic imaging with the automatic adjustments that phones make to the picture, such as removing blemishes and increasing lighting?

We have previously issued fatwas regarding the ruling on photography, clarifying that it is a matter in which scholars have differed, with some prohibiting it and others permitting it. Some of these fatwas leaned towards the view of avoiding what is not necessitated by dire necessity or urgent need. Modifications to the image, such as lighting or image enhancement, do not affect the ruling.
