What is the ruling on dealing with usurious banks when Islamic banks are unavailable?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible to invest money in usurious banks, for usury is forbidden both to take and to give. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses. It is advised to invest in halal (lawful) ways, such as trade or Mudarabah (profit-sharing) in Islamic banks.
