Is it permissible to donate one's body after death for charitable purposes, such as to a medical school for study and teaching students?

After death, a Muslim still retains the right to be honored through washing, shrouding, praying over, and burying, and the inviolability of their body from mutilation or disfigurement. Autopsy after death contradicts this right, and is therefore impermissible unless there is a benefit or necessity. In the case of autopsying a body for educational purposes, there are great and general benefits for saving human lives. Therefore, a Muslim may donate their body for this purpose, and this aligns with the general Islamic principles based on prioritizing preponderant benefits.
