Is a husband permitted to compel his wife to wear the hijab after marriage if she was not wearing it before marriage, and is he permitted to make certain matters contingent upon her wearing the hijab?

It is the husband's right to compel his wife to wear the hijab. If she disobeys him, she is considered disobedient (nashiz) and is not entitled to maintenance (nafaqah) or housing (sukna). He is also permitted to treat her as a disobedient wife. The hijab is an obligation from Allah Almighty, and obedience to the husband is obligatory. How much more so when both matters converge.
