Nafaqah

Nafaqah is the financial maintenance a husband is responsible for providing his wife: housing, food, clothing, and related needs. It continues during a valid marriage, and in some cases through part of the iddah, the waiting period after divorce. Its scope is addressed according to means and local custom.
