Does a daughter's money revert to her parents like a son's money, and is she obligated to spend on them similarly? Does a husband have a right to his wife's money for her to spend as she wishes? Should a wife obey her husband if he forbids her from spending on her parents? If the parents are poor and the wife has no money, is her husband obligated to spend on them?

The term "children" (أولاد) includes both males and females. The father has the right to dispose of his children's wealth as long as it does not harm them, and he is not permitted to favor one over another.

If the parents become impoverished, the wealthy daughter must spend on them to the extent of their need, without diminishing her own necessities. The wife's money belongs to her, unless the husband stipulated taking a portion of it in exchange for her work outside the home.

If one of the children undertakes the financial support of the parents, the obligation is lifted from the rest.

The woman's husband is not obligated to spend on her parents except from his Zakat funds. As for her, she should not give them from Zakat, but rather from her private wealth.
