Traveling to non-Muslim countries for the purpose of seeking knowledge is permissible if the traveler is secure concerning himself and his religion, and if that knowledge is not available in Muslim countries. Commercial health insurance is permissible for one who is compelled to take it, and the sin falls upon the one who compels and the one who volunteers it. It is permissible to abandon congregational prayer due to a legitimate excuse, such as fear of missing out on acquiring knowledge or suffering harm, or the mosque being far away. However, congregational prayer must be established if it is easy to do so with other Muslims. It is not permissible to delay prayer entirely beyond its prescribed time.
