The basic principle is to bury each deceased person in a separate grave. It is not permissible to bury two people in one grave unless there is a necessity, such as a large number of deaths due to an epidemic, destruction (of graves), or drowning. In such a case, it is permissible to bury two or more, with a barrier placed between them. Based on this, it is not permissible to bury a woman with her husband's father or her husband's brother in one grave except out of necessity.
