Is it permissible for the husband to compel his wife to return to the marital home, especially since she is refusing to do so due to disputes with her mother, and they have a daughter, and he resides and works in the UAE while she is in Jordan?

What the wife did is forbidden by Islamic law, and she must know that obedience to her mother is restricted to what does not involve disobedience to Allah. Her disobedience to her husband is a grave sin, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator." Therefore, she must return to her home immediately, otherwise, the husband should take her case to the Sharia courts. The husband should also strive to mend the relationship with his wife's mother.
